Privacy policy

KinPulse is a location app for families. This page explains what we collect, what we can see, and what we do not do with your information.

What KinPulse is for

KinPulse lets you share live location with people you invite — and lets them share with you. Sharing is optional. You can turn it off in the app at any time.

Location

• Location is read on your device only while sharing is on.
• Your location is encrypted on the phone before it is sent.
• People you share with decrypt that location on their own devices.
• We cannot read your coordinates on our servers.
• We do not sell location data. We do not use it for ads.

Accounts

You sign in with a KinPulse account (for example @name:kinpulse.org). We keep the account name, the devices you use, and the encrypted history needed for the app to work. Display names and photos you set are visible to people in your circle.

Device permissions

The app may ask for location (including in the background, so sharing can continue when the app is closed), camera (QR codes and optional profile photos), and notifications (invites and alerts). You can deny any of these in system settings. Some features will not work without them.

What we do not do

• No advertising SDKs.
• No public people search.
• No selling or renting personal data.
